We spent this weekend in Weston, MO at Apple Fest, an annual festival celebrating the harvest season. Scores of people from all around the area flock to Weston every year to mark the start of autumn. Tents selling handmade jewelry, clothing, pottery and housewares lined the intimate and quaint streets and a whole square was dedicated solely to homemade food. Never ones to miss out on good food, we shared a hand-dipped corn dog, ice cold soda and deep-fried Oreos, a “delicacy” too sweet to pass up. The day was a perfect start to the season.
